Llewellyn (Safety Advisors) Europe Ltd was founded in 2005, by Darren Edwards the Managing Director.
Having been introduced to dangerous goods in the Armed Forces, transporting fuels and explosives, and after many years in the chemical distribution industry he started the company to support manufacturers, distributors and third party service providers in the successful management of dangerous goods.
Darren has managed all types of operations, from small fleet operations to top-tier COMAH (SEVESO) establishments, in all the aspects of DGSA, operations, quality, health and safety and International shipping of dangerous goods.
His previous position as Group Operations Director for Chemsource Group saw him responsible for 4 company’s operations in Ireland and the UK. Chemsource Group remains a loyal client to this day.
Having the hands on knowledge and experience from designing hazardous installations, packing and filling to physically delivering dangerous goods in packages and tankers, it would allow the company to be able to give practical, realistic advice to its clients.
The core business was DGSA services, health and safety in the chemical industry and authoring of MSDS’s.
ADR training for drivers and IATA training followed in 2006 when he became an approved DFT and CAA instructor.
The foundations were in place and the company began to grow; key to this growth was a commitment to give the best service possible to clients, each client is as important as the next. This still is the basis of the company’s outlook today and this will never change.
Existing clients began asking for more services, training, health and safety assistance and advice in other areas. This was embraced and successfully combined with the existing services being provided.
The company continues to grow, being involved in the successful management of clients in the construction industry, detergent and film industries to name but a few.In 2012 the company commissioned the first Franchise of the business.
